One of the familiar musical presences along Carroll Creek in downtown Frederick, Maryland, is a harpist whose gentle music adds a special charm to the area. It's wonderful to sit at one of the nearby restaurants overlooking the walkway, enjoy a meal, and listen to the gentle melodies of his harp as he plays below. His music brings a sense of peace to an otherwise busy downtown, inviting people to slow down and enjoy the moment.

When I painted this watercolor, I wanted to capture more than just a musician playing his harp. I was drawn to the beautiful golden instrument, the concentration of the harpist, and the contrast between the warm colors of the brick walkway and the cool tones of the steps behind him. As a watercolor artist, I wanted the lines of the composition to naturally lead the viewer's eye toward the musician, keeping him and his harp as the focal point. For me, this painting celebrates one of those everyday moments that makes downtown Frederick such a special place.

FAQs About Prints
What printing process do you use for Art Prints?
I use Giclée printing, which is a process that uses fade-resistant, archival inks and archival substrates to print on large format printers. Giclée printing is often used by artists to make reproductions of their original two-dimensional artwork, photographs or computer-generated art for resale while preserving the original.

Do you mat or frame your Art Prints?
No, there are so many wonderful options. I leave that for you.
